Sinopse

Living in poverty with his wife, children and mother-in-law, Osman (Kemal Sunal) earns his living as a porter. He has accumulated a mountain of debts to the neighbourhood shopkeepers and his landlord. Not to mention being constantly humiliated by his wife Leman (Yasemin Yalçın) and mother-in-law (Nevzat Okçugil)!... One day the neighbourhood ticket seller Şakir (Şemsi İnkaya) forcibly sells him a lottery ticket. Osman hides the ticket somewhere but forgets where. Osman learns that one of the tickets sold by Şakir has won the jackpot and is overjoyed, thinking it is his.
